Frequently asked questions

Everything to know before creating an album.

Short answers to the questions we hear most. The app itself is in French for now; an English version is on the way.

The essentials

What is Kliche?

A photo album you look at together from a distance. You pool the holiday photos, send the link to the group, and everyone sees the same photo at the same moment, with everyone’s cursor.

Do my friends need an account?

Not to watch: they open the link and join the album. An account (email or Google) is only needed to create an album, send photos, draw or react.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Kliche opens in the browser, on a computer as well as on a phone.

How much does it cost?

Free during the beta. An album holds up to 700 photos and 3 GB, for 10 people at most, and is erased 3 days after it is created.

The photos

How do I send my photos from my phone?

On the computer, the album shows your personal QR code. Scan it with your phone, pick the photos, and they land straight in the album, without signing in on the phone.

What happens to the photos?

They are erased with the album after 3 days. Everyone can download their favourites before that.

Who can see the album?

Only the people who have the link. The invite link lets people watch; it does not let them delete the album. The creator can change the link and remove someone at any time.

Do photos keep their quality?

Yes. JPEG, PNG and WebP photos are sent at original quality: only the GPS position and camera details are removed, the pixels are not recompressed. « Garder les photos » gives you back those same files. iPhone HEIC photos are converted to high-quality JPEG.

Does Kliche keep a copy of my originals?

Kliche only sends the photos you choose, without their GPS position or camera details. Your originals stay on your phone.

How many photos can I put in an album?

Up to 700 photos and 3 GB per album, whichever comes first. Up to 10 people can watch together.

Watching together

How does watching “at the same time” work?

When someone moves to the next photo, it changes for everyone. Everyone also sees where the others are pointing, thanks to coloured cursors.

And to talk?

Keep your Discord call (or any other) open next to it. Kliche handles the photos, you handle the chat.

What if my connection drops?

Reopen the link to get back into the album, on the photo the group is looking at.

Ready to relive the trip?

Create the album, share the link with the group, and look at the photos together tonight.
