Kliche and the other ways to share your photos.

Each of these tools does its own job very well. They just don't all answer the same wish: looking at the same photos, at the same moment, each from home.

Checked on and on each service's official pages (sources at the bottom). “Not stated” means the page we read does not mention it.

To gather the photos of an event

These services are mostly about collecting everyone's photos. None of the pages we read mentions synchronised viewing.

In short

Retro

An iPhone app to share your photos with close friends every week and turn them into recaps. Ideal for a long-running journal; not designed for a shared viewing session.

Kliche or Retro?

Google Photos

Link sharing works even for people without a Google account, and everyone can add their photos. The help page mentions neither synchronised viewing nor automatic deletion.

Kliche or Google Photos?

WhatsApp group

Already on every phone, perfect for reacting in the moment. Photos go in standard quality unless you choose “HD”, and get lost among the messages.

Kliche or WhatsApp?

iCloud Shared Albums

Very handy across Apple devices, up to 100 participants. The content stays online until deleted manually.

POV

A digital disposable camera for weddings and parties: guests scan a QR code and take photos, revealed when the host decides. Made for taking photos during the event, not for watching them together afterwards.

Discord screen share

The group’s reflex: free, already open, and the voice is there. But one person picks the photo, quality is limited to 720p/30 fps without Nitro, and everyone’s photos must be gathered first.
