Gather everyone’s New Year’s Eve photos and watch them together

Midnight has passed: everyone filmed the countdown, took blurry selfies and photographed the buffet. By 1 January, those photos are scattered across every phone in the group. Here is how to gather them during the party, and watch them together the morning after.

Create the album on the evening of the 31st

A Kliche album erases itself 3 days after it was created. Created early on the evening of 31 December, it stays until 3 January: enough for the brunch the next day, and for everyone to download their photos before going back to work. Your friends do not need an account: they open the link, pick a first name and come in.

A QR code on the TV during the party

Open the album on the living-room TV or on the computer plugged into it and switch to TV mode. An upload QR stays in a corner of the screen: everyone scans it with their phone, iPhone or Android, picks their photos, and they land in the album during the party, in original quality.

The New Year’s Day brunch

Friends who have already left

Those who celebrated elsewhere, or went home early, open the same link from home. They see the same photo at the same time, with everyone’s cursor, and can talk through the voice call built into the album. We go into this in watch photos together, each from home.

Start the year with a film

The recap puts the group’s best photos together in a short vertical film with music, made on your device: something to post in the group chat to open the year. Before the album erases itself, everyone can also download the photos they want, as a single ZIP file in original quality. The guide: make a souvenir video with music.

For a big New Year’s Eve: an album holds 10 people at most during the beta, with 700 photos and 3 GB. Keep the best shots of the countdown rather than the whole burst.

How long does the album stay online?

Yes. Everything happens in the browser: everyone sends their photos with their QR code, whatever their phone. HEIC photos from the iPhone are converted to high-quality JPEG.
