Host a slideshow night with friends, 2026 edition

Guide · 5 min read

Our parents’ slideshow nights had something special: everyone in front of the same pictures, at the same time, telling stories and laughing. Here is how to do it today with the photos from every phone in the group.

1. Gather everyone’s photos

The longest part is usually collecting the photos: one has an iPhone, another an Android, a third never sent theirs. In a Kliche album, each member has their own QR code: they scan it with their phone, pick their photos and the photos land in the album, under their name, without recompression.

The “Album ready” page shows who has not sent anything yet, with a button to nudge them. No need to wait for everyone to start: photos that arrive during the session are added live.

2. Choose where to watch

All in the same living room: open the album in TV mode on the big screen. The photo shows alone, full size, and the upload QR code stays in a corner for anyone who wants to add theirs.

Each from home: send the link to the group. Everyone sees the same photo at the same time, with each other’s cursors, as if you were side by side. We go into detail in watching holiday photos together remotely.

3. Tell, point, draw

What makes a slideshow night is the comments. In the room, anyone can point at a detail with the laser, circle someone with the brush or add a one-line caption under their photo. To talk from afar, the room has a built-in voice call, or a button that opens your usual Discord, Meet or WhatsApp call.

4. Sort without spending the night on it

With 300 photos, a common thread helps. The Place, Day, Person, Outing and Moment filters let you watch “the day at the beach” or “Lucy’s photos” without scrolling through the whole album.

5. Keep a memory

At the end, everyone downloads what they want to keep, in original quality, before the album is erased after 3 days. For a keepsake to share, the recap assembles your best photos into one image or a short video with music.

Tip: set the date in the group chat as soon as you are back. An album that disappears after 3 days is the best excuse not to put it off.

Your slideshow night, tonight.

One album, one QR code per person, and everyone watches.
